Stargate SG-1: Alliance Cancelled

Published by AnksConsulting LLC under blog

According to a post on the official SG-1 Alliance website the game production has been cancelled.
“An official statement is forth coming from MGM and/or perception in the coming days.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the employees of Perception all the very best for the future. Having seen the game first hand I know you guys did a fantastic job and you have every right to feel proud of what you have done.”

Furthermore, apparently beta testers that were testing the game are no longer bound by their nondisclosure agreements, so we may be getting more information about the game in the future.

This news comes several months after the game’s original publisher JoWood announced the cancellation, and the developer Perception denied it. Further complication this were lawsuits filled on from both sides over who actually controlled the licenses from MGM of Stargate.

Based on screenshots that were available, the game looked fairly interesting. It would have been a great way to extend the Stargate franchise, and give fans the of the series a way to participate in that universe.

This meeting, attend by over 70 members, featured a presentation on Build-a-Bear Workshop (BBW) by Board Member Alina Costica and member Evan Strain. While Build-a-Bear was not accepted in to the portfolios, the meeting was very successful. It provided an opportunity for members to discuss the merits of the company, and the discounted cash flow analysis.

The next IAG meeting will be next Friday, and will feature members Matthew Lee and Mike Lee presenting Google (GOOG).

Windows XP Service Pack 3

Published by AnksConsulting LLC under blog

Microsoft has announced that the next Service Pack for Windows XP will be in the second half of 2007. This service pack will ship after Windows Vista launches in the second half of 2006. The release has been pushed back to enable Microsoft to concentrate on Windows Vista.

The last service pack released by Microsoft was in 2004. SP 2 was a response to a drastic increase in spam, phising and worms. The major improvement in SP2 was the inclusion of a Security Center, which made it easier for users to manage firewalls, virus scanners, and update their computers. Incidentally, in the rush to push out SP2 Windows Vista was delayed.

These record bonus were driven by profits at large banks, such as Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers.
