Such a wonderful, powerful movie. The acting, the plot, everything works together to create this movie. The basic idea of the movie is that a super virus of some sort makes humanity sterile. For the past 18 years no new children have been born; and the world is breaking down as a result. The story follows the main character as he tries to help a refugee get to the coast. I don’t want to give too much of it away, and so I’ll remain vague here for those of you that haven’t seen it yet.
Overall, it is a stunning movie, with great acting, cinematography, camera work, soundtrack, everything. Watch this movie if you haven’t seen it yet.
I do not know who created this spreadsheet, I got it from a friend and I am just passing it along.
Here is a spreadsheet of various Happy Hours in New York City. Feel free to download the Adobe PDF file and use it all you want. It has the specials for seven days of week, at over thirty places throughout the city.
I saw this movie last night, and doing some background research (searching on Google) I learned that the movie is actually based on a book. This is one of the few movies that I’ve seen first, and then have been inspired to read the book. Most of the time, it is the other way around, I read the book and then watch the movie, or just watch the movie.
Anyway, back to the movie. It is a story about a boy and a girl, Jess and Leslie, who become friends because both are outcasts at school; Jess is the son of a poor farmer, and Leslie is the new kid in town. Both of them are very creative, more so than normal kids of that age, and they create their own kingdom, Terabithia to get away from the bullying and the everyday. The story is wonderful, and touching. While there are grand special effects, they don’t over power the basic idea of the movie, and works wonderfully with the story line.
This is a wonderful movie that more people should definitely watch when you get the time for it.
Thanks to a wonderful Father’s Day commercial on TV currently, I’ve got this song stuck in my mind. So listen/watch this video and remember great times:
This is not a review on Shrek the Third, but rather the six year old original movie. For some reason, I had never seen this one, even though I found the second one hilarious. Anyway, here are some thoughts on the first movie, six years after its release…
Shrek is a delightful movie that everyone will enjoy. Its appeal is in part due to the humor and the various other fairy tales woven into the overall story. The humor is the real charm of the movie and it caters to all age groups. In one scene, the Magic Mirror describes Snow White as living “with seven men, but don’t be fooled, she’s not easy.” Whereas, at the start of the movie, Shrek’s farting in the swamp amuses children.
Overall, it is wonderfully funny movie definitely worth watching, again if you’ve already seen it.
