K-Meleon is basically the Firefox engine except revamped so that users can enjoy the fastest web experience minus resource intensity. On my 400 Mhz box w/192 MB of RAM, every page loads unbelievably fast. This is Firefox 2 without the spiking memory usage. This is the true kickass, hold-no-punches, open source browser.

When Mike Mitchell found the perfect location for his home, he wasn’t going to let a little thing like a lack of utilities get in his way. His house operates off solar and wind power, with a propane backup in case of emergencies. The coolest thing is that he’s using a microwave IP Internet connection from Covad Wireless. While living off the grid might not be the cheapest thing to set up; $26,000 for the initial kit, and then an additional $2,000 for the windmill, it is a great idea. Perhaps the prices would be cheaper if more people started using it.

The final book in the Harry Potter series has been leaked to BitTorrent. A torrent with photographs of each page of the American edition of “Deathly Hallows” has shown up on multiple BitTorrent sites. This was out yesterday, according to the message board where it was first leaked, people are working on transcribing the images into Word documents, I’ve got no idea how long it will take, but hopefully it will be done soon. Or once the book is officially released, groups will take the book, scan the pages, and create a PDF file for mass, rapid distribution.

The lack of updates recently is a result of me starting my job. I’m having a great time at work, its just that working in the city, and commuting an hour or so every day leaves little time for much else. Although, I have managed to set a gym membership and have finally started going back to the gym. I had forgotten how much fun working out is. Over the weekend I got time to watch Transformers, I’ll write a quick review of that soon as well. I’m hoping to watch the new Harry Potter movie this weekend; followed by reading the book when I can get my hands on it. That’s all for now, Transformers review tonight hopefully.
